Mozzarella Sticks โ€“ Cheesy Snack from Italy

๐Ÿ“‹ Ingredients (for 8 sticks):

  • 1 block mozzarella cheese (cut into sticks)
  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour (maida)
  • 1 egg (beaten)
  • 1/2 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional)
  • 1/4 teaspoon oregano (optional)
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying

  1. Cut mozzarella cheese into thick sticks. Freeze for 15โ€“20 minutes.
  2. In 3 bowls:
    • 1 for flour
    • 1 for egg

  3. Coat each stick in flour โ†’ then egg โ†’ then breadcrumbs.
  4. For extra crispiness, coat again in egg + breadcrumbs.
  5. Freeze for 10 more minutes so cheese doesnโ€™t leak while frying.
  6. Deep fry in hot oil until golden brown.
